YieldReaction ConditionsOperation in experiment
21% General procedure: To a suspension of NaH (60% dispersion in oil, 297 mg) in THF (7 mL), was added a solution of o-iodobenzyl alcohol (1,4 g, 6.0 mmol) in THF (12 mL). Effervescence occurred and the mixture was stirred at room temperature for 20 min. A solution of the arylsulfonyl chloride (9.0 mmol) in THF (10 mL) was added and the mixture stirred for 24 h. Water (30 mL) was added and the mixture extracted with ether (3 x 25 mL), dried (MgSO4) and the solvent evaporated. The residue was purified by column chromatography or crystallisation.
