SQ?[SiMe(OMe)2]8 can also be prepared without DMPA after 90min of irradiation. 1H NMR (300MHz, CDCl3, ppm): delta=0.13 (s, ?SiCH3, 24H), 0.72?0.76 (t, ?CH2Si(OCH3)2?, J=6.3Hz, 16H), 0.99?1.03 (t, ?SiCH2CH2S?, J=6.4Hz, 16H), 1.62?1.70 (m, ?SCH2CH2CH2?, 16H), 2.53?2.61 (m, ?CH2SCH2?, 32H), 3.52 (s, ?Si(OCH3)2?, 48H). 13C NMR (75MHz, CDCl3, ppm): delta=?5.80 (?SiCH3), 12.66 (?CH2Si(OCH3)2?), 13.03 (?SiCH2CH2), 22.95 (?SCH2CH2CH2?), 25.86 (?SiCH2CH2), 35.05 (?SCH2CH2CH2), 50.14 (?Si(OCH3)2?). 29Si NMR (60Hz, CDCl3, ppm): delta=?68.93 (?SiCH2CH2), ?1.91 (?SiMe(OMe3)2). FTIR (KBr, cm?1): 2926, 2836, 2359, 1452, 1411, 1258, 1123, 1082, 823; MS?ESI: 1007.21 [M?2OCH3]2+. Anal. Calcd for C64H152O28S8Si16: C, 37.03; H, 7.38; S, 12.36. Found: C, 36.90; H, 7.40; S, 12.39.
