56% In ethanol; for 3h;Heating; A mass of 97 mg of Hhhp·HCl (552 μmol) was added to a suspension of 100 mg of [Re(CO)5Cl] (276 μmol) in 25 cm3 of ethanol. After heating of the mixture for 3 h, the solution was cooled to room temperature and filtered. The filtrate was left to evaporate at room temperature, and after 5 days yellow crystals, suitable for X-ray diffraction studies, were collected by filtration. They were washed with acetone and diethyl ether, and dried under vacuum. Yield = 67 mg (56%), m.p. = 169 C. Anal. Calc. for C9H7ClNO5Re:C, 25.1; H, 1.6; N, 3.3. Found: C, 25.3;H, 1.4; N, 3.7%. IR (νmax cm-1): ν(C≡O(shè)) 1881vs, 2023vs; ν(Re-N) 486m; ν(Re-O) 431m; ν(O-H) 3270m. 1H NMR (295 K, ppm): 8.41 (d, 1H, H(15)), 7.55 (t, 1H, H(14)),7.68 (d,1H, H(13)), 2.49 (s, 2H, H(1)), 3.45 (s, 1H, O(1)H). Conductivity (10-3 M, DMF): 17.
