REVIEW Sclareol is a fragrant, bicyclic diterpene alcohol found in the sage plant Salvia sclarea. It is used as a fragrance in cosmetics and perfumes and as a flavoring in food. It has been shown to kill human leukemic cells and colon cancer cells by apoptosis.
