Sugammadex sodium is a novel selective agent for reversing non-depolarizing neuromuscular blockade (a muscle relaxant antagonist) that was first reported in human use in 2005 and has since been applied in clinical practice in Europe, America, Japan, and other regions. Recently, sugammadex sodium has gradually begun to be used in China. Compared to traditional anticholinesterase agents, sugammadex sodium can reverse deep neuromuscular blockade without influencing the acetylcholine levels at cholinergic synapses, thereby avoiding adverse reactions triggered by M and N receptor stimulation, significantly enhancing the quality of anesthesia recovery. The following is an overview of recent clinical applications of sugammadex sodium during the anesthesia recovery period.
