             Salicylic acid is an important raw material for fine chemicals such as pharmaceuticals, fragrances, dyes, and rubber additives. In the pharmaceutical industry, salicylic acid itself is used as a disinfectant and preservative for local keratinization and skin fungal infections. As a pharmaceutical intermediate, it is used in the production of drugs such as painkillers, urea, acetylsalicylic acid (aspirin), sodium salicylate, salicylamide, glyburide, chloramphenicol, phenyl salicylate, ethyl paraben, bismuth subsalicylate, and sulfasalazine. In the dye industry, it is used to produce dyes such as direct yellow GR, direct sun resistant gray BL, direct sun resistant brown RT, acid medium brown G, and acid medium yellow GG. Various esters of salicylic acid can be used as flavorings, such as methyl salicylate, which can be used as an oral flavoring for toothpaste, as well as other flavorings and food flavorings. Used in the rubber industry for the production of anti scorching agents, ultraviolet absorbers, and foaming aids. Salicylic acid can also be used as a curing agent for phenolic resins, a preservative for textile printing and dyeing pulp, and a puffing agent (dye promoter) for synthetic fiber dyeing.
