Glycerol laurate (glycerolmonolaurate), also known as glycerol laurate (GML), is an excellent food emulsifier and preservative. It is the earliest new safe and efficient antibacterial agent screened by Kabara et al. It was officially approved as GRAS food additive by the US FDA in 1977. Lauryl ester is not only an excellent emulsifier, but also a safe and efficient broad-spectrum antibacterial agent, and is not limited by pH, under neutral or slightly alkaline conditions, it still has a good antibacterial effect, especially suitable for application in the special oil industry.
