Guanidine hydrochloride is an organic matter, chemical formula CH6ClN3, white or yellowish colored lumps. Used as an intermediate in medicine, pesticides, dyes and other organic synthetic products, is an important raw material for the manufacture of sulfonamides and folic acid, and can also be used as an antistatic agent for synthetic fibers.

Application:

1. It can be used as intermediates in medicine, pesticide, dye and other organic synthesis. Can be used to synthesize 2-aminopyrimidine, 2-amino-6-methylpyrimidine, 2-amino-4, 6-dimethylpyrimidine, is the manufacture of sulfadiazine, sulfadimethyrimidine, sulfadimethyrimidine intermediates.

2. Guanidine hydrochloride (or guanidine nitrat) reacts with ethyl cyanoacetat to synthesize 2, 4-diamino-6-hydroxy pyrimidine, which is used to synthesize folic acid, an antianaemic drug. It can also be used as antistatic agent for synthetic fibers.
3. It can also be used as protein denaturant
