Dipotassium glycyrrhizinate can inhibit the production of melanin. In the experimental study, the back skin of guinea pigs was selected. Under UVB irradiation, the skin pretreated with 0.5% dipotassium glycyrrhizinate had a higher skin white coefficient (LChemicalbook value) than that of the control group, and the combined effect was significant. It can be used to prevent skin pigmentation and melanin production after sun exposure, and is a potential skin whitening agent.
