Chondroitin sulfate (CS) is an acid mucopolysaccharide extracted and purified from animal cartilage. Chondroitin sulfate has different structures such as A, C, D, E, H and K. Chondroitin sulfate in nature is mostly found in animal cartilage, laryngeal bone, nasal bone (41% for pigs), cattle, horse diaphragm and trachea (36% - 39%), and other tissues such as leg bone, ligament, skin, cornea, etc. The content of fish cartilage is very rich, such as 50%~60% in shark bone, and very little in connective tissue.
