地塞米松（Dexamethasone，簡(jiǎn)稱DXMS）是一種人工合成的皮質(zhì)類固醇，可用于治療多種癥狀，包含風(fēng)濕性疾?。ㄓ⒄Z(yǔ)：rheumatology），某些皮膚病、嚴(yán)重過(guò)敏、哮喘、慢性阻塞性肺病、義膜性喉炎、腦水腫（英語(yǔ)：cerebral edema），也可能與抗生素合并用于結(jié)核病患者。對(duì)于腎上腺皮質(zhì)機(jī)能不全（英語(yǔ)：adrenocortical insufficiency）的患者須并服具有鹽皮質(zhì)激素的藥物，例如富能錠（英語(yǔ)：fludrocortisone）等等。早產(chǎn)嬰兒使用地塞米松能改善預(yù)后。本品通常一天內(nèi)即開(kāi)始發(fā)揮藥效，藥效可維持約三天左右。 長(zhǎng)期使用地塞米松會(huì)導(dǎo)致念珠菌癥、骨質(zhì)流失、白內(nèi)障、容易瘀青，或肌肉疲乏。本品的在美國(guó)的懷孕分級(jí)為C級(jí)，需評(píng)估用藥成效大于副作用才能給藥；在澳洲則被評(píng)為A級(jí)，表示本品常用于孕婦，且沒(méi)有證據(jù)顯示會(huì)對(duì)胎兒造成危害。哺乳期間不可服用此藥，本品具有消炎及免疫抑制的效果。 地塞米松于1957年首次合成，并列名于世界衛(wèi)生組織基本藥物標(biāo)準(zhǔn)清單之中，為基礎(chǔ)公衛(wèi)體系必備藥物之一。本品價(jià)格低廉，在美國(guó)一個(gè)月療程通?；ㄙM(fèi)低于 25 美元。在印度，早產(chǎn)療程一次僅需 0.5 美元。地塞米松在大多數(shù)國(guó)家都能輕易取得。
