Properties AIP is white small lump or powder, semi- transparent, and soluble in alcohol, isopropyl alcohol, benzene, toluene, chloroform and carbon tetrachloride. Its density is 1.035g/cm3. Tends to absorb moisture and reacts with water into aluminium hydroxide and isopropanol.
Applications Widely used for manufacturing isophytol, testosterone, progesterone, androstenedione, ethisterone in pharmaceutical industry and as a raw material for aluminate coupling agents in processing rubber and plastic industry. It is also used as raw material for printing ink thickener named fatty acid Al-O hexacyclic compound, active catalyst and carrier, inorganic membrane, reducing agent, dehydrant, water-proofing agent etc..
Packaging Polyethylene plastic bucket or coextruded paper box lined with polyethylene film bags in vacuumizing. Net weight 20 kg per bucket.
Storage Store in closed containers in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area, and avoid exposure to direct sunlight.
