Reinecke salt [ammonium tetrarhodanatodiamminechromate(III)] is an ammonium salt. It participates in the quantitative precipitation of histones as well as basic compounds present in an acid tissue extract by forming reineckate complexes.Purification Methods
Crystallise it from water, between 30o and 0o, while working under artificial light. Solutions of reineckate salt (aqueous or alcoholic) decompose slowly at room temperature in the dark (~2 weeks) and more rapidly at higher temperatures or in diffuse sunlight.
