Biological Activity

ZNF146 (Zinc finger protein 146/OZF) gene encodes a protein th at has been found to be overexpressed in more than half of pancreatic cancers and in more than 80% of colorectal cancers. It lacks a transactivation domain characteristic of other members of Kruppel family and is a target of myc protein. It is found to interact with E2 conjugating enzymes (UBC9) and is sumoylated by SUMO-1 th at is involved in modulating protein stability, subcellular localization and gene expression.
