以5-甲基-2-庚烯為原料經(jīng)以下步驟合成：
水稻以100g/10公畝劑量處理水稻，對(duì)其地面部分抑制程度為18%～23%，以25g/10公畝劑量處理，則對(duì)地面部分幾乎無(wú)抑制作用，在出穗前5～9d施用pironetin對(duì)產(chǎn)量無(wú)影響。小麥用125~1000mg/L的噴灑濃度處理旱田小麥，對(duì)株高呈現(xiàn)20%左右的生長(zhǎng)抑制活性，但對(duì)小麥穗數(shù)并無(wú)影響。以2000mg/L處理對(duì)小麥有藥害，平均每穗重及千粒重減少10%左右。
