Hazard Information | Back Directory | [Enzyme inhibitor]
This neuronal nicotinic acetylcholine receptor antagonist (FW = 1806.98 g/mol; CAS 740980-24-9), also known as Conotoxin Vc1.1, is produced from mRNA in venom duct of Conus victoriae. ACV 1 selectively targets the α9α10 nAChR subtype (IC50 = 19 nM), with weaker action against α6/α3β2β3 (IC50 = 140 nM), α6/α3β4 (IC50 = 980 nM), α3β4 (IC50 = 4200 nM), and α3β2 (IC50 = 7300 nM) nAChR subtypes. ACV-1 suppresses vascular responses to unmyelinated sensory nerve C-fiber activation in rats, as related to pain transmission. ACV-1 and its posttranslationally modified analogues vc1a, [P6O]Vc1.1, and [E14g]Vc1.1 are equally potent at inhibiting ACh-evoked currents mediated by α9α10 nAChRs. | [storage]
